Arkaba Debacle (Part 1)
Wednesday, 6 August 2008

Part 1

There is more to come in this story, but the brief overview is this...On Friday the 1st of August Simon was performing the 3rd Soul Trader® gig at The Arkaba wearing the same range of clothes he wears at all gig as part of the Soul Trader® entertainment experience.

Yes I know what you’re saying,”Why the hell did you bring up the clothing thing??”. Well the owner Peter Hurley asked one of his mangers to stop the gig while Simon was wearing a sleeveless top. Simon not interested in compromising his integrity or his professional based on the opinion of people or a person who clearly doesn’t have a clue, walked!

The audience thought things like this before the debacle:

“It’s great to listen to a musician who is truly passionate and involved with music he plays. Well done man, keep it up!!!”

“Cool brother, but don’t get bought by the big boys, do you own thing, do your own thing, cool”

(More of the comments soon)

After the gig, the comment before the people left can best be summed up as “What the....?!?!”

More on this story to come.
